Leroy Sibbles is acknowledged as one of the most popular and soulful singers of the rocksteady and reggae eras; having superstardom initially thrust on his group the Heptones very early in their career; with an almost endless string of hit recordings led by Leroy, including Fatty Fatty, Party Time, Sweet Talking, Baby Be True, Why Did You Leave Me To Cry, I Shall Be Released, Sea Of Love, Love Won’t Come Easy, Country Boy, Love Without Feeling, Suffering So, Young Generation, Why Must I, Give Me The Right, Only Sixteen, Ting A Ling and Darling I Love You earning them a reputation as one of Jamaica’s most gifted and prolific vocal trios of all time.
He is unquestionably one of Jamaica’s national treasures and his placed along with the original members of the Heptones (Earl Morgan and Barry Llewellyn) is reserved in any reggae music Hall of Fame in Jamaica and around the world.
Leroy is also celebrating 52 years as a recording and performing superstar, and gave an immaculate presentation of his classics at the Mas Camp staging, and oh how the ladies screamed !! especially when he sang their favourite Fatty Fatty.
His large and loyal Startime posse is anxiously awaiting his Startime appearance at the Juici Patties Verandah in Clarendon Park on Saturday July 2.
